UV rays carry more energy than visible light rays, so the eye and surrounding skin are at greater risk of damage from exposure to UV radiation than other kinds of light. UV rays can cause, or advance progress of several eye diseases, and UVB rays have also been related to skin cancer. Over exposure to ultraviolet radiation, can damage the front portion of the eye. UV radiation sensitivity varies from person to person with most damage caused by UVB and UVA rays occurring over extended time periods and it is irreversible. Sundog Element Protection lens treatments that provide hydrophobic protection (repelling moisture) and oleophobic protection (repelling oil) increasing durability and weatherability. Our Element Protection coatings are specially developed to fill the spaces between coating layer crystals on the lens surface, which blocks moisture, dirt and grease from penetrating the spaces. The lens surface is not only smoother, making it more repellent to moisture, it is easier cleaned and less prone to smudging.
